Texas Hippie Coalition, thank you for hosting and creating the Battle of the Blues! The event was a treat, with 6 participants showcasing their amazing talent from around the U.S., ranging in age from 18 - 20 or 30 something. Each contestant played an electric & acoustic song, making it a tough choice for the judges to pick just 1 winner. $25,000 prize! Dr. John opened the show with about a half dozen tunes, proving he still rocks. JB also delivered a fantastic performance, as expected. Our cups ranneth over with joy. Joe, incredibly talented, impressed us once again, with his voice getting better and better. You Go Joe! General Admission was only $20, a steal compared to nearby parking lots charging $25. We managed to find parking off Francisco for $10, and even closer for $8. The balcony seats offered a great view, with reserved seats opened up for General Admission. Club Nokia, not to be confused with the Nokia Theater, had a cool view on the 4th floor outside the balcony level.
